Blank slates

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked. A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work. You have to start over with a working simple system.

I love applying systems to my life.
I love making them more complex than necessary though.
So what I mean is that I love applying new systems to my life.

My world is a revolving door of productivity hacks and self-management tools.
In fact, I nerded out about these long before any of them stuck.
I think the reason I try so many is because there is no one size fits all solution. Actually, they all are. But, I am a fallible human and blank slates feel better than reattempts.

I’m not at the finish line.
And I never will be.
The steps are never ever truly clear.
It’s just a few solid guard rails, a bit of hope, and inch by inch grasping.
It’s difficult to see the path when you’re climbing.

But sometimes, I look back and realise how far I’ve come.
